Sleep Out on the Mississippi
Join us for Sleep Out on the Mississippi at the beautiful Mud Island River Park. Campers sleep underneath the stars next to Ole Man River. Just bring yourself to enjoy this unique camping experience. We provide a 12’x12’ tent, dinner, live entertainment, recreational activities, campfire with marshmallows, and breakfast. Just bring your sleeping bag. Advanced reservations required due to limited space.

River Run Race & Scavenger Hunt
12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Travel from Ohio to the Gulf of Mexico hunting for items, solving trivia, and performing crazy tasks in Mud Island River Park’s River Run Race & Scavenger Hunt!
Each team will be given two hours to cross as many tasks off their list as they can. When time is up, teams will meet at the starting line for prizes and announcement of the winning team. The winning teams will be invited back in October to compete in RIVER RUN FINALS for the grand prize.
No fee to enter.
Four members to each team (at least 9 years old).
No more than 12 teams per date.

Flumpa® and Friends LIVE! presents a lively, interactive family adventure combining engaging music, energetic, physical movement, and colorful sets with science “fun facts” and the wonders of biological, earth and physical sciences at 1:00 pm! Featuring the six-foot-six, blue-eyed tree frog and his irrepressible creator, Wendy Whitten, ‘The Singing Scientist,’ the show engages youngsters’ natural curiosity and stimulates their vivid imaginations, while inspiring them to learn more about science through what they’ve seen and heard!

Mississippi Movie Night - "The River is Life"
7:00 p.m.
Enjoy a free 90-minute movie at Mud Island River Park! Last summer Phillip Jeanes and Ryan Hullquist of 11 Visions paddled down the entire Mississippi River and caught their exploits on camera. “The River Is Life” documents the adventures of Ryan and Phillip’s journey.

Memphis Dragon Boat Race

Dragon Boat racing - the most fun and unique cultural event with adrenaline pumping action - comes to Memphis! Dragon Boat racing is the eighth most popular sport in the world, and makes waves all over the U.S. A dragon boat is 46-feet long, with its ornamental heads and tails, and holds 22 people. Of those, 20 paddle in sync, a drummer keeps the beat, and a steerer guides the vessel to the finish.
